These student clarinets were named "Vito". Started to manufacture clarinets in the US from plastic bodies and French keys. Leblanc USA was formed in 1946 by Vito Pascucci,Īnd the French woodwind manufacturer, G. The Vito name was used for student through professional (Yanagisawa baritone saxophone) instruments. This is a bargain for a very rare, great sounding French made sax.Īny questions, please ask.Vito is a brand name for Leblanc USA, now part of Conn-Selmer USA. I am selling my tenor for thousands less than a few others I have seen on the net cause of the play wear. The voice on the Rationale is what you would expect from a fine made French sax. This Super Rare Tenor Sax will come in a period correct hard case but I have no idea if it is the original. Most of these saxes the posts and nuts have been cut out but this one is still original. The pads have the stock, flat metal resonators, posts and nuts. It plays great down to low D but would need some pad adjustments to get to low B flat, for sure. There are two small dings on the lower bell that could easily be removed if desired. The most dings are on the front, lower elbow as pictured. The sax I am selling has been loved and played so there is alot of lacquer wear and a few bumps and dings. This makes it easy to play faster passages or trills. When you play C#, B, A, G# and G, by pressing any of the lower stack keys it will lower the note 1/2 step. In addition to normal fingerings, the Leblanc System offer alternative fingerings. Leblanc used the Boehm principle of tonehole placement to make the best intonated sax ever and I think they succeeded. Some say there were only 200 to 400 tenors ever made. There were only 1564 altos and tenors ever made and mostly were altos which makes the tenors even harder to come across. It was made by Beaugnier in Paris, France. Serial number is 584 which I believe it was made in the mid to late 1950's. I am reluctantly selling my super rare Leblanc Semi Rational Tenor Sax made in France.
